Mock Chicken Salad That Will Make Your Tummy Sing

mock chicken salad2The one thing I missed when I became a vegetarian over 20 years ago was chicken salad.  Then wouldn’t you know it, I got introduced  to the world of tempeh!  Tempeh is a fermented soy bean product that is super good for you, and it is actually considered a super food because of it’s healthy benefits.

 

I love the seasons of Spring and Summer because the weather is so nice and there always seems to be one party, picnic, or celebration right after another.  Since I am a vegetarian, the only way to insure that there will be food that I could eat, is to make a dish and bring it along.  I love eating healthy, but you don’t have to sacrifice taste for healthy food.

If you’ve never tried tempeh, you absolutely must try this nutty tasting vegetarian delight!  Tempeh is made by fermenting whole soybeans.  It’s even a healthier option than tofu because of the fact that it’s fermented.  Tempeh is pretty much a super food, and it’s packed with protein and fiber.  Those two qualities help you to feel full longer and that will definitely help you in your weight release efforts!   Other benefits include that it’s easy to digest, it’s low in sodium, and it contains natural antibiotics.  Because tempeh is one of my favorite foods, I am going to share some tempeh recipes with you.

Mindful eating is very similar to intuitive eating.  Intuitive eating is a broader philosophy, according to the Evelyn Tribole, and Elyse Resch, author’s of the Book  Intuitive Eating . “It includes physical activity for the sake of feeling good, rejecting the dieting mentality, using nutrition information without judgment, and respecting your body, regardless of how you feel about its shape.”   Whereby mindful eating, which is a component of intuitive eating, is a process of purposefully paying attention to the eating experience, not judging yourself in the process.

What is Intuitive Eating?

First off I can tell you what it’s not and then we’ll go from there.  It’s not overeating, it’s not dieting. It’s not binging or deprivation or even the next biggest weight loss craze.  Intuitive Eating means listening to your body’s signals.  Allow the inner wisdom to come out.  Eat only when you are hungry and eat only until you are satisfied.  When you adopt intuitive eating you will no longer take

part in the yo-yo diet syndrome.  You won’t need to!  If you are wanting long lasting weight release, transitioning towards intuitive eating is really the only way to go since diets fail time and time again.

Take those naturally thin people who live life by eating to live rather than living to eat. They are intuitive eaters. They are not obsessing about what they are eating, or what they should be eating or what they are going to eat for dinner.  They just enjoy, they don’t overeat and they live life fully! Their attention is on life, more than it is on food. Even if you love food and are a foodie, it can still be a passion for you, but in a totally different context. You don’t have to lose that part of yourself, we are merely removing the obsessive behavior and clearing the programs that are at the heart of your weight problem.

EFT for Weight loss is a magical living miracle!  Time to get your Sexy back – Today I feel great, down 1 1/2 lbs, but feeling spectacular ~ sexy ~ confident ~ beautiful! Woohoo.  Just releasing some old BAGGAGE can do a lot and not just talking about the pounds.  When we use EFT for weight loss, we actually clear core issues that are at the heart of many of our eating issues.  On day 7 I had a memory from Physical Ed class from when I was in 3rd grade – talk about releasing some baggage.  Today we work on seeing food in a magazine or on TV and how that always makes me hungry even if I just ate.  I tap while looking at a photo of a Red Velvet cupcake from a magazine.  It’s truly amazing how EFT for weight loss actually helps eliminate those cravings and deletes old programs that have been running inside of us all this time!
