Step 4 To Achieving Independence From Your Food Obsessions

In this series I am explaining the 7 steps to achieving Independence from your food obsessions. So far we’ve talked about:

 

Step 1 – Tuning In

Step 2- Discover

Step 3- Clear

Today we are going to discuss step 4 which is RELEASE.

 

In order to be free from your food obsessions, you need to release them.

 

Release and clear are two very similar concepts, however with regards to the Synergy Weight Release System™, when I refer to release I am referring to the process of releasing the story, releasing the attachment to the outcome, releasing the HOW that it’s going to happen, and releasing the need for this obsession in your life.

These three areas can actually overlap or be very distinct situations.  You may have released the subconscious programs through the clearing process, but you also need to release the mental chatter about the old story. It’s done, out of here, and long gone.  Move on. Tell a new story.

 

You are releasing weight, change your vocabulary about that, never say ‘lose weight’ again.  You should set up a quarter jar, for every time you say the word lose, in reference to weight, drop a quarter in the jar.  Just the subconscious meaning behind the word ‘lose,’ is something you want to lose, or it release?

 

Releasing the attachment to the outcome is so important, because that in itself can be a story.  If you are so fixated on what your manifestation has to look like, rather than the essence of the desire, then you won’t be able to see your success.

 

As a final closing point, you do want to acknowledging that the food obsession served you at one time, but now declare that it no longer serves you and you feel safe to let it go.

 

An excellent way to do this, is to imagine all your food obsessions, the false beliefs behind them, and any stories you are telling yourself about your weight or your body, see them in little bubbles.  Then visualize these bubbles floating upward towards the sky.  Once they get so far that you can hardly see the bubbles any more, watch as the bubbles pop and the obsession, beliefs, and stories disintegrate.  Take some deep breaths and feel the relief and the freedom that results in the release.

  1. I see what you mean about being attached to the outcome – I think that can be solved by changing terms to describe the outcome. A fixed weight might be the outcome, but it’s what that new weight will do for us, *that* should be the real stated goal!

  2. What a great use of visualization that you use in closing your blog. You have great insights that you use for weight loss. I also enjoyed what you said… “If you are so fixated on what your manifestation has to look like, rather than the essence of the desire, then you won’t be able to see your success.” I think this can be used in many aspects of life. ;0)

  3. Hi Maryann. I love that visualisation you shared at the end of the post. I’m definitely going to be using that one. I’ve already changed my vocab to release weight instead of losing it.
