I remember when I was younger and I was afraid to draw attention to myself for fear of ridicule, due to my size. It was always safer to just blend in and stay in the background.  My weight held me hostage until I was in my late teens / early twenties.   Even then I never fully stepped out into the spot light.  I remained partially invisible and only let a bit of my self shine in front of my group of friends.  These friends of mine were the creative types;  they were in the band, in theater groups, year book club,  and photography students.  They were as quirky and as ‘weird’ as I was.  I fit with these kids like peanut butter and jelly .  But still something still loomed over my head…if I was to become totally visible then I would open myself up to some unwanted attention.

Weighing in at 160 – 180 pounds at 5’2″ at the age of , I was really afraid of drawing any attention to my weight.  It was pretty crazy thinking – it’s not like my friends couldn’t see with their own eyes that I had a weight problem. However it was the unsolicited comments and criticism in front of my group of friends from those “mean kids'” that was my worry.

As I grew up I became a little more comfortable in my skin, but the little voice still whispered, don’t be seen too much.  I find that with myself and with some of my clients, that underlying anxiety caused by years of being overweight and not being okay with the bodies we are in, can lead people to hiding from life and from people.  It can also stop you from living your purpose.  Having body and weight issues can strip you from your confidence in yourself.

My friends may be surprised at my admission because I was always pretty out going.  But on the inside was a girl who still got nervous about being seen and heard.

It’s time for my fearless future self to step out to the  front and be seen and heard in a big way!  It’s time for my personal awakening!

Are you ready to experience your personal awakening?

Are you living your purpose?

Do you feel that you are hiding, or do feel invisible around others?

Are you ready to step into your personal greatness and clear those blocks that have been keeping you from living your life with passion, purpose, and fun?!

The first step is to embrace your body right now, no matter what your size.

The next step is to sit in quiet reflection and think about all the things you are passionate about, then find ways to include them in your life.

The third step is to clear those voices in your head that send you negative self talk.  It’s time to release these old messages with gratitude, but these messages no longer serve you.

Next step is to set up realistic goals of things  that you have always wanted to achieve but life or old belief systems got in the way.

Journal your thoughts, ideas, and findings regularly.  Your journal will show you what you need to know on this journey to your personal awakening!

I grant you permission to be seen and heard, and  I can’t wait to see how your life blossoms!
