Halloween – A Day Where You Can Be Anything
I think my favorite thing about Halloween is that I can be anything I want. All I have to do is simply create a vision of what/who I want to be, write out my list of what I need to be this character, purchase the appropriate clothing, or don the mask, apply liberal amounts of make-up if required, and act the part!
I could be a super hero, a nurse, a nun, a celebrity, a famous person in history. Or I could be a bee, or a cat, or banana, or even Sponge Bob Square Pants.
The Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness Meditation is one of the best ways to silence the mind and release resistance. There are many benefits of mindfulness meditations, but before I list them here, you may be wondering what mindfulness meditation is. Mindfulness meditation is the style of meditation where you focus on a mantra, or your breath, or both. It’s purpose is to draw your attention inward and to be at peace with the present moment. When you focus on your breath or a mantra, and thoughts creep in, which they often do, you simply and gently bring your attention back to your mantra or your breathing. When you quiet your mind for 20 minutes, once to twice a day, you begin to release stress, calm your nervous system, and quiet the mind.
The Benefits of Mindfulness Meditation:
- Clearing the internal chatter or “monkey mind”. By clearing the monkey mind you are processing your stress and freeing your mind of the cycle of endless repeated thoughts throughout the day, leaving your mind more open to insight and solutions. When the mind is overactive with chatter, it can sometimes lend a hand to self-sabotage, so when you release the chatter you are releasing your tendency to self-sabotage. read more
Love and Weight Release
Loving ourselves is a large, and important part of weight release. Love and weight release truly do go together. However you may find it difficult loving yourself while being overweight.
You may feel anger that you “let yourself go like this” that you continue to punish yourself by eating more, not caring, or even despising yourself.
I know it can be difficult, you may be so used to beating yourself over your weight that you probably don’t know HOW to love yourself again. Or you may be beating yourself over other things from your past. read more
Are you in your comfort zone being heavy?
Many of us get stuck in heavy mode because subconsciously we are in our comfort zone being heavy.
If you have a hard time knowing whether or not you are in your comfort zone, then I have a list of statements to ask yourself whether they are True or False. This could help you determine if you are residing where you are subconsciously comfortable.
